Senegal’s history of elections goes way back to
1848, even before its independence from France.
Senegal uses multiple ballot bulletins system in
elections. Each candidate or party has a separate
ballot paper. The voter chooses ballot paper of can-
didate of her/his choice and puts it in an envelope
and drops it into a ballot box. Ballots are designed
in different colours so as to encourage even the
