COVID Safety at the Polling Station
• At every polling station mandatory to be set disinfectants and trash can with black bag.
• Take care of the asset for disinfection to be constantly complemented / provided new, by a
responsible person
• Arrange tables or benches in a way that provides smooth voting and distance between members of
the electorate board, as well as the distance between the present representatives and observers.
• Set up ballot screens to ensure secrecy and no one to not be able to see how the voter fills in the
ballot
COVID-19 Positive Cases and Others: Special Facilitation
Voting was organized on July 13 for voters who tested positive for COVID-19 and or quarantined at
home or who have been in self-isolation under an order of the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate.
To facilitate their voting, these voters were registered through authorized representatives in person
or electronically, via email or through the online application by July 8, 2020. Such citizens voted on
Monday, July 13, two days before the official Election Day.
Further, polling was organized on July 14 for eligible voters in prisons; for voters at home because of
house arrest, disability or illness; in centers for internally displaced persons; and for voters in assisted
living facilities.
Voter Turnout
In all 943,750 voters out of 1,814,263 registered voters exercised their franchise at the
elections. The voter turnout was 52.02% as against 66.79% during 2016 parliamentary elections.
