    India A-WEB Centre

    India A-WEB Centre The 4th General Assembly of the A-WEB was held on 03 Sept., 2019 wherein Sh Sunil Arora Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of India took over as the Chairperson of A-WEB. This decision of the General Assembly of A-WEB demonstrates leadership of the Election Commission of India among Election Management Bodies of the world The 4th General Assembly of the A-WEB was held on 03 Sept., 2019 wherein Sh Sunil Arora Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of India took over as the Chairperson of A-WEB. This decision of the General Assembly of A-WEB demonstrates leadership of the Election Commission of India among Election Management Bodies of the world The Executive Board of the A-WEB, in its Extraordinary Executive Board Meeting held on 2nd September, 2019, approved the following: Establishing an A-WEB Center in New Delhi; and The appointment of Mr Umesh Sinha, Secretary General, ECI as Senior Adviser for the aforesaid A-WEB Centre. The Centre will function under the administrative control of the Election Commission of India as its integral part. It will maintain coordination with the A-WEB for its fulfillment of its mandate. The Centre is mandated to take up ‘Documentation, Research and Training’ for A-WEB Members for sharing best practices and capacity building among the members of A-WEB in election management. ECI will provide necessary resources for the A-WEB Centre. Aims The India A-WEB Center aims to become a global ‘Knowledge and Resource Center’ for world class ‘Documentation, Research and Training’ in pursuit of supporting free, fair, inclusive, accessible, efficient, transparent and credible elections and strengthening Electoral Democracy. Objectives of India AWEB Centre Documentation of systems and best practices on important themes namely electoral reforms, use of technology, voter education, expenditure management, regulation of media and social media, electoral registration, facilitation for Gender, PwD and senior citizens at the polling station, early voting system, facilities for service electors and overseas electors. Publication of International Magazine, Journal and documents on focused topics Voice international to be magazine of AWEB and partnership with all partner countries for obtaining write ups from EMBs and International Organisations Training and Capacity Building of EMB officials on focused topics in coordination with IIIDEM

    The fourth issue of VoICE International that marks the completion of Volume I. VoICE.NET has further grown with joining in of the EMBs of Ecuador, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe and Taiwan as the new members of the VoICE International.
