At 9 AM (1200 GMT), voter turnout was
8%, about 0.9% points higher than in
the last parliamentary election in 2016,
                      according to the National Election
                      Commission. That excluded nearly 27%
of the 44 million registered voters who
took part in early voting the previous
                      weekend. Among them were about
2,800 COVID-19 patients, for whom the
NEC allowed voting by mail and set up
special polling stations for early voting.

self-quarantine signed up to vote and
were allowed to exercise their franchise
after other voters had left at 6 PM (2100
                      GMT).
                      Announcement and
                      Promotion of ‘Code of
                      Conduct’ for Voters-

posted. NEC also posted othervideo material on YouTube and other channels and utilized them for
                      training polling station workers.
